when this well respected New York developer came to california, it quickly understood that our luxury renters are, well, different. and when it comes to investing in architecture and interiors, decisions have lasting impact.

This IDEO project was about understanding luxury Millennial renters in San Francisco and Los Angeles to inform the design of new spaces and experiences in urban multi-unit residential buildings. As the project lead, I also felt strongly that besides insights, our team should deliver early concepts to bring the strategy to life for Related. We captured our work in a coffee table book—a medium relevant to the client’s corporate culture—with original photography and illustration communicating the story of how we might design for the resident’s needs, desires, and aspirations today and in the future.
